Flying standby is hit or miss, but this time we were able to snag a couple of seats in first class. Woo hoo! My first time. Our flight was delayed in Atlanta, so I took a few minutes to document the usual excitement that goes on in an airport.
We finally arrived!!
Here is part of our magnificent view from the house. The deck stretched around three sides of the house. We had front row seats to the ocean.
Chris and Lee hanging out at the island in our awesome kitchen, where we spent a lot of our time. The grill definitely got a lot of use.
Below is what we woke up to every morning. The window stayed open the entire week.
The guys decided to buy fishing gear and try their luck.
After a slow start at the dock, we moved back to the beach house.
Finally after they changed their bait to shrimp ...
Most evenings were like this. This is the neighbor's house.
This was Maisie's first trip to the ocean. She was a little reluctant to get in the water.
But she liked barking at the waves and the birds.
And digging in the sand.
The lighthouse bakery, one of the few places left to eat on the island is a great place to eat breakfast. The cinnamon rolls are fantastic.
