Yeah right. But in this case, you can order a hot meal and pretend you're flying somewhere. Solo's is a restaurant that's connected to a retired plane, as you can see below. The wait staff dress like pilots (appropriate enough) and after you place your order, you can make your way into the cockpit to play around. You can pretty much get anything from hot wings to ribs to sandwiches. It's an interesting alternative to the ordinary restaurant.
My family came to visit Lee and I, so we decided to do something touristy - like visit the Cheyenne Zoo. I found myself juggling between my zoom and wide angle lenses and decided I need two bodies to shoot with. I think I did actually have some luck the other day cleaning my CCD. I didn't notice any spots on the sky shots here.
Lee and my mom.
The peacocks are my favorite because they are my favorite colors. Just add a little purple and they'll be perfect.
There's a monkey on her back. No, seriously, there is. My favorite shot is of the fish below because I think the zooworker's shadow balances the photo well.
Animals are the coolest. If you are around the colorado springs area, I suggest you visit the zoo. It's money well spent. $12 for adults, but $10 with a AAA discount. With admission to the zoo, you also get to hop in your car and drive up to see Roy Roger's the shrine of the sun ... which is, of course, my next post.
I was attempting to clean my CCD today (without luck) and to test it out I shot a few frames of Lear in one of his new favorite spots. He is such a sweet kitty.
I am so excited to be assisting the fabulous Karie McLain with her weddings. What a sweetheart! We just did our first wedding together last Saturday in Golden, Colorado. I think we are going to have a fantastic time working together. Below is a shot of Karie in action.
I love all of the green and trees that we live around now. I was sick of seeing the dirt and dust of Las Vegas, so moving to a golf course is like being on vacation every day. Lee and I took a walk around the neighborhood and I snapped a few shots as we went along. You can see Pike's Peak in the background of our complex below.
When Lee and I were on vacation, we dropped by to visit friends and family in Arkansas. This was the first time we were able to meet Noah Riley Oaks. Noah is three months old and an absolute doll. He looks just like his beautiful mommy. Mike and Nikki are dear friends of ours and we are blessed to have them in our lives. Congratulations guys!
One thing I've noticed in our short amount of time here is that it rains for about 30 minutes every day. And it's usually around 3:00 in the afternoon. Below is the view from our balcony during yesterdays rain shower.
