Colorado Strobist - December Meetup

Last Sunday, our strobist group met up in fellow strobist, Curtis' garage in Lakewood. Fortunately the roads were clear enough for Lee and I to make it up there. What a full house - or should I say garage. It was so packed with photographers and models! Special thanks to our models: Amanda, Heather, Jamie, Jane and Amber. It was like a zoo in there, but I still managed to get some awesome photos, have a great time and meet some new people.

Arkansas Photographers Unite!

During my trip to Arkansas, I was fortunate to meet up with a fantastic group of photographers and we spent the day putt putting, eating and shooting. Special thanks to John and Lindsey for being our models. And special thanks to Sarah Bussey and Crystal Goss for organizing the event. Check out their sites ... AWESOME work, AWESOME ladies - though you have to watch out for Crystal's putt putting ethics:)

Above is only one shot of our beautiful couple, John and Lindsey. Check out the slideshow for more shots from the entire day.

Woo Pig Sooie!

Lee and I went in to Arkansas for a while over the holidays and scored a couple of tickets to the Mississippi State game in Little Rock. We were able to meet up with my good friend Lindy and also ran into some other friends we haven't seen in a while. Here's a shot of me, Lindy and Scott at The Buzz tailgate party. It was so much fun hanging out with you guys! And yay - the Razorbacks won!!

Here's where we were sitting ...

On the day after Thanksgiving, we headed back to Colorado, so we got to watch most of the LSU game and listened to most of the 4th quarter on the way to the airport. Thanks to our friend Steve and the Southwest Airlines employee lounge, we were able to finish out the 4th quarter. We made our way through security before the first overtime was over. Though I was so excited I could barely focus, I managed to snap a few shots at the end of the game. Yay Razorbacks!! You can't tell because in my excitement, I failed to expose for the screen in any of the 3 shots I snapped, but the final score - ARK 50, LSU 48 in 3OTs.

Love the LSU kid's reaction on the right vs. the ARK kid on the left:)

Brad & Sarah

The Denver Botanical Gardens in Chatfield was the location for Sarah and Brad's wedding, which I was able to be a part of thanks to Morgan Lynn Photography. Morgan is such a joy to work with and such a talented individual. I had a great time second shooting with her.
Here's Brad and Sarah in one of the many beautiful locations around the site. And check out the slideshow below.

Colorado Strobist - November Meetup

Busy shooting weekend ... another wedding with my pal Morgan of Morgan Lynn Photography is coming soon, but first - another fabulous strobist meetup.
We met at Commons Park in downtown Denver for our November meetup. What a fantastic park. There are so many areas to shoot here, I feel we'll be frequenting this location. Brandy graciously agreed to be our model again. Here is a shot of the group in action.

Below is Brandy - backlit by the sun and one speedlight at 1/8 power to her right.

Same lighting set up, different perspective ...

Natural light here.
One speedlight with a purple gel behind her.

Still playing around with the purple gel ...

Lee sitting in as the model. CTO geled speedlight at 1/8 hitting the background. One canon speedlight to Lee's right at 1/32.

Same lighting setup with Brandy as the model.

We had great weather and an equally great time playing around with some color. Can't wait till next time!

October Strobist Meetup

We had a great time at the October Strobist Meetup in Washington Park. Below is a setup shot featuring Tom shooting, Jenn modeling, Will's headless body poking over the balcony on the top and 2 canon speedlights. Following are a variety of shots with our model, Brandy, who did a fantastic job and was very gracious to put up with us. Thanks, again, Brandy!

Snow!

We had our first snow in The Springs a couple of weeks ago. Here are a few shots from the balcony ...

What Happened To Fortune Cookies?

Seriously? What the crap??
Someone please tell me when the fortune cookie company ran out of fortunes and starting using lame pick up lines.

A Peruvian Wedding

Lee and I had the privilege of joining Morgan Lynn Photography for the wedding of Ivonne and Alfonso in Lima, Peru. What an experience! Morgan is awesome. Ivonne and Alfonso and all of their friends are awesome. I can't express enough how kind and welcoming everyone was to Lee and I.

Working alongside Morgan as her assistant and second shooter was a great time - and a great experience shooting a wedding unlike any I had seen before. Below are a few of my shots from the night. Be sure to check out the entire wedding week of Ivonne and Alfonso, much of which Lee and I were unable to attend - and the rest of the fabulous work shot by Morgan Lynn Photography.
